Welcome to a unique combination of wood engraving, painting and bespoke carpentry, all executed by Alastair Lovett, based in Durham City, UK.

My biographical information can be found in the current (36th edition) of Who's Who in Art , so I won't duplicate it here.

The 'Paintings-Slipstream' section is the important bit. This section includes doodles and studies for paintings I'm currently working on. Most of them aren't complete yet, with 'The Dice Players' being the only one at an advanced state of execution.

For information about the origins of the 'Slipstream' series of paintings, have a look at The English Assassin and The Condition of Muzak by Michael Moorcock, or The Islanders and The Prestige by Christopher Priest (the novel, not the film). These paintings look forward to a time when we will have the capacity to perceive the realities that exist in parallel to ours.

Please feel free to contact me with any queries.

I'm a member of the Society of Wood Engravers, and promote its work and exhibitions informally, or through demonstrations of wood engraving.
